A.R.T. for Life

A.R.T. for Life (Art Reaching Teens for Life) began in 2008 as a collaboration between ACBV & the Brazos County Juvenile Services Department, providing at-risk youth an opportunity to work with experienced painters, poets, and performing artists by creating public works of art. This experience is a hands-on, artist-mentored youth program that provides individuals in juvenile services with a foundation for making proactive life choices — the program provides a process for personal growth and a positive outlet for creative energy.
Over 200 teens have participated in A.R.T. for Life programs to create dazzling works of art on display across Brazos County. To date, approximately 83% of all A.R.T. for Life participants do not re-offend after participation in the program; the effectiveness of this program demonstrates the impact that the arts make on the lives of young people.
This program is made possible by the generous support of Brazos County and The Brazos County Juvenile Services Department.

Community Gallery
Exhibiting in community spaces and private businesses—the community gallery is intended as a rotating collection where the public experiences works by local artists in a daily environment. These collections currently enhance College Station City Hall, Hilton College Station, The Stella Hotel, Brazos Valley Council of Governments and College Station Surgical Associates.
